Slicer for Fusion 360 changing the base plane

I'm using Slicer for Fusion 360 for a class project, and I am trying to figure out if there is a way to change the base plane to slice from.

For example, say we need multiple parts that need to be able to fit together. We can use Slicer to get the individual parts tested separately, but what if we need to test the fit between to two parts? The best way to do this (in my mind) would be to slice both of the parts from the center and move outwards from a single plane. Is there a way to do this, and if not, what would be the best way to accomplish something similar?

Thanks,

Matt C.

Hello @Anonymous

You could apply the "Construction Technique" tab to select the "Interlocked Slices", this will enable orientation to the cutting plane of the skins for the construction of your 3D element.

Look at the pictures below:

When you apply this technique you can change the fit plane between the pieces.

To finish, you can go to the configuration menu and add the measures of docking to finalize the plane of cut of the parts.

I hope this can help with your school work!
