sketching in reference to another sketch

I have a body - a boxed shaped object. I need to make another box object as a sleeve that slides over the other box.

I am trying to reference the first boxes sketch, which has some useful information - like the center point of the box, to start drawing the outer box. I want to use the Center Rectangle in the second sketch to easily make  this out sleeve box shape around the first box.

I can't reference any parts of the first sketch - point corners intersecting lines - nothing. you can see in the picture first body & sketch are showing, and I am in the new component, lets call it outer sleeve - but I can't place the CenterPoint on the intersecting lines.

How can I accomplish this?

This seems to indicate and overall issue - like not being constrained to the origin...

1st three pics, we can’t see the origin, or dimensions.

Last pic, shows  one black line, and it is mid command.

Click Drag, holding down the left mouse button.  If it can Move, it will, let go the mouse button, put it back, use Undo.

Fully constraining is a combination of constraints and dimensions.
Constrain or Dimension to the Origin, as priority, but constrain or dimension from something, black, or purple, helps.

So you have a black vertical line, dimension a short line that runs off it.

Now you can make (1) tab short line in all the tabs Equal to this first dimensioned tab short line.

Might help…..

The third picture - the one with the origin, shows the drawings constraint to the origin (assuming it is actually doing that). All these pics are of the same drawing - so...

As you can see in the new picture here - the origin is referenced, vertical lines are black, two small horizontal lines perpendicular to the  black vertical lines are dimensioned - and... nothing. They will not turn black.

Are there some hidden lines or other checks can I do?

I've reduced the number of issues - but still have lots.

Sketch.ShowUnderconstrained says Under constrained points: 108, under constrained curves: 75

Needs a dimension for the red cross, next to the 4 inch one.

Need overall height, or another 0.708 from origin to blue line above it.

For the left side short tab lines, is there any duplicate lines?

Delete the top 0.708 dimension.

Make both short left tab lines equal to each other.

Might help....
