Sketching a Circle Tangent to a Curve using 2-Tangent Circle?

Hello All,

When I try to Sketch > Circle > 2-Tangent Circle I can't create the circle because, I assume, the vertical line I want to make it tangent to is a curve.

Yet, when I build the circle and make it tangent manually, using the Sketch Palette, it does so without a problem. Am I doing something wrong when using the 2-Tangent Circle command or is it actually not possible?

The goal of the exercise is to improvise a fillet between a straight line and a curve.

The images below show:

1. That I can make the circle tangent to the curve and line.

2. A finished improvised fillet after trimming the excess construction geometries.

Many thanks!

Hi,

Yes you can't create a 2-points tangent circle between 2 lines, but there is an easy way to do it by using the 2-points circle with tangent constrains

Regards

Saeed

Hi Saeed,

I see, and in fact this method of yours is quicker than the way I was working, thanks a lot!
