Sketch perpendicular to base

I have this arcade cabinet that I am making, but I have to make the front panel. The front panel should be perpendicular to the base and not oh the face of the front part of the sides, how can I achieve this?

Use the front face of the base to do so

Do you have to go 1 or 2?

If 1. can't you simply sketch on the bottom plane XZ?
