So, I had fully constrained sketch, indeed. L could do nothing to it and it's all in black. OK, so far.

After that I've removed one constraint (horizontal) to rotate it. And I was able to rotate. BUT! The sketch is still shown as fully constrained (all in black). If I remove dimension, it become blue. And after reapplying the same dimension it stays blue.

The second thing, that is always annoying me, the dimension behavior. If a line, as in example above, was dimension'ed in horizontal or vertical position, after rotation the dimension keeps to be horizontal/vertical. And I have to re-dimension that parts of sketch manually every time to make that kind of dimensions to be parallel to lines again. Is there an option to have them parallel by default?

Hi grandag,

Thanks for reporting this issue. This is definitely a bug of Fully Constraint Analysis functionality. I have internally logged a bug and send to our development team to take a look.

For the second issue, I understand your concern. For any horizontal line, currently there is no option for user to create an aligned dimension. However I think your requirement is interesting and worth some investigation, it would be better to provide an option, just like when user adds dimension to a slanted line, he could choose to create an aligned/vertical/horizontal dimension.

I will talk to our development team to see if there could be some improvements on this.

Thanks,

Frank

Thanks, @FrankCao for the response.

Maybe it's worth to add the ability to choose alignment into context menu as it's done for "Driven" modifier?

Hi grandag,

I discussed with the development team and we think maybe we can support it if many people want this improvement in sketch. We still have many bugs and improvements internally to fix and finish, it is suggested that you can raise your requirement in the Idea Station as below to let us know your good idea:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/ideastation-request-a-feature-or/idb-p/125

Then we will balance all the different requirements and implement the most urgent and welcome features one by one.

Thanks,

Frank
