So I drew frame 1 OK as you can see. I went to draw frame 1 1/2 which I did I couldnt see, so deleted it and did it again but again I cannot make it visible. Except in show/hide "preview"

So why is frame 1 clearly visible but frame 1 1/2 not? how do I make make frame 1 1/2 "normal"

I closed and opened Fusion360 but this made no difference.

So I did frame 2 and the spline is very light or "greyed out"  am I stuck in some sort of "mode" by accident?

From those two pictures,

I am thinking that you are making sketches inside components, and only the active component will show full colour,

So when working in one, other components will be lighter, to help show that it is not active.

if this is not what you are doing then I don't know.

your pic shows a lot of white dots, which means the intersections are going to fail, ( floor plan for example.)

maybe attach your file for someone to check your data and setup.
