Since 03/02/17 update the timeline is not working properly with activated component and does not reduce it to the component feature only like it used to be. Please advise if this is going to be fixed or if there is a workaround it.

Hi @benoitD336P

Thanks for posting! It looks like you are experiencing an issue in which the design timeline is not truncated when a component is activated.

I have not experienced this behavior on my system. Is this only occurring with a specific design, or all of your Fusion 360 designs? If this is occurring with a specific design, feel free to attach it to this forum thread and I am happy to have a look to see if the issue may be dataset related.

This issue could have been triggered by the March 1st update. Have you restarted your computer since the update? You could also try performing a clean uninstall and reinstalling Fusion 360.

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to continue troubleshooting.

I have included a screencast showing the behavior I experienced below:

Hello @paul.clauss thank you for your quick answer.

I have this issue with all my designs and yes I have restarted my computer multiple times since the update.

I will try a clean uninstall asap and hope it will fix this issue, it's kind of a mess working without the truncated timeline 😕

@paul.clauss, I just performed the clean uninstall, reinstalled fusion and rebooted.

The behavior of the timeline did not change and I still have the problem.

Anything else I can try?

Then it seems related to your particular design. Could you share it?

Hi @benoitD336P

Thanks for the response - it is unfortunate that rebooting and performing the clean uninstall did not resolve this issue with the design timeline.

I did notice that there is a setting for truncating the design timeline. This option is labeled "Hide All Inactive Features" and is located in the bottom right hand corner of Fusion (by clicking the gear in the bottom right hand corner). Is this option disabled for you? If so, enabling it should return the timeline to its original behavior. I have shown this in the screencast below.

I apologize that I was not aware of this option earlier! Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you - if it does not we will continue troubleshooting.

@paul.clauss, thanks a lot, that was it!!! I had looked into all the setting that I could find for something like that and completely missed this one. I guess those settings could be with the general preferences, I can't see why people would like to toggle that on and off quickly....
