Simple loft with Tangent blend not working in Fusion?

Is this related to the new update are a limitation / bug in the loft code?

G1 fails miserably and G2 produces funny results when lofting edge to edge !!!

Here is a screencast showing the issue and how I would like it to run shown in Alias.

Optional:

Adding rails helps but dimensioning the tangent handle in a 3D spline seems not to work well or in this case actually at all.

I can only move the handles making the process more than painful.

And this adds extra steps I dont want to have to deal with and rather want the loft to create the blend surface.

Hi @cekuhnen,

Thank you for sharing the information with us.

I will try to reproduce the issue and see if me might find a solution.

I will keep you updated.

Thanks,

@Mike.Grau

Thanks for looking into it - this should normally work without making extra rails - the rails just add extra needless work to such a simple form.

If we just would have advanced surfacing tools 😉

Hi @cekuhnen,

Thank you again for sharing your file.

I was able to reproduce the warning and forwarded it to the Fusion 360 Development team.
A workaround for now would be to use the loft feature within the horizontal direction with more control splines.

I have created an example file for you here:

I hope this helps. Please, keep me updated.

Thanks,

@Mike.Grau Of course with a center or edge rial this works fine.

The point is that without Rails it fails forcing me to add extra details I might not want to add to the design such as an additional sketch.

It would be great if in this case Loft could simply work like in nearly every other Surface modeler not needing rails or use rails how Fusion does it.

It is just that option I miss.
