Simple joints

Hi, I'm new to fusion 360 having come from solidworks.  I'm having issues with assembly joints and all the info I can find is about more complex joints then I'm attempting.  I'm just trying to join two panels together for a piece of furniture for a bench top and side panel which is very simple in solid works; I mate one face to another and then flush one face to another to bring the panel out to the edge of the other.  I can make the first joint but when I go to do the second it says its already joined.  I've also just tried to move it to the edge with the move command after the initial joint but that won't work either.  I'm very frustrated over this. Please help!

You only need one joint in Fusion, for that workflow.

Edit your current Joint, move the component with offsets in the dialogue.

Might help...

Okay, just tried that but there only seems to be the option to offset a distance which means I need to calculate that distance and then if I alter the dimensions of the parts I then have to recalculate that distance.  Is there an offset to face option?

Yes, but depends on where the Joint disc is.

You will need to research the Joint system, it's different to Solidworks

when creating the joint, your selections make a difference, the position icon (Joint Disc), has relevance, too

Attach your file so we can demo with your data,

pictures save a thousand words....

Okay, I see, I did read about them but didn't get how they would give me the joint I wanted in one operation as I was thinking it needed to be three like in solidworks(mate-flush-flush). Seem to be getting somewhere now. Thank you!
