I have a design I'm working on, but I wanna make sure the two gears inside are going to work properly. Is there anyway to show the interaction of two objects in motion? I tried a joint, but the gear teeth kept passing through each other.
Gears are a little bit more complicated and setting up a contact set doesn't work well. The reason is that the profile for the gear is complicated and the math behind the scenes is just too much to compute real time. Instead I would recommend setting up two revolute joints - one for each gear and connecting them with a Motion Link. You can specify the gear ratio while setting up the motion link, so that the relative motion between the two gears is realistic.
