Sheetmetal - Flanges of different widths

I'd really like to be able to create flanges of different widths but still use the auto corner mitre option.

It would obviously need to allow for the difference in edge lengths. 

 

See the 2 attached images for different options for the solution. There are others as well. Not sure how this choice would be handled best...

@gavbath,

 

I made a quick video to show the steps to get the flanges from the images you shared.  I used press put to change the flange length and maintain the gap.  Then extrude to change the flange length and keep the flange width.
