Sheet metal question

Is it possible to take an existing CAD file and unfold it to create a sheet metal part from it? The part is a simple electrical enclosure. Or do I need to start from scratch?

in the latest update of Fusion they have made this possible. However I have not attempted to take advantage of this feature yet so I cannot exactly tell you how to do it. Someone will be along to assist you shortly :))

AFAIK this is not possible.

@SEIZMICdesign : I'm not aware of this feature. If you're talking about importing bending patterns (sketches) that this is true. But IMHO those only contain the information where to bend something. Not how. So I stick to my "No - this is not possible"

Hi,

maybe this will help?

But I think that all cutouts must be present in the imported part.

Attach your file here if you can’t figure it out.

Sorry -- you're right. I misread the question. I was thinking he was wanting to bring in a flat pattern with fold lines and turn into a sheet metal part. Which can be done right?

Yes, but only to a certain degrees. The sheet metal workspace is a bit
limited (from what I've read in this forum so far)
