Sheet Metal - Intersecting Body not Mitering

Hello,

I have a flange design I'm trying to build and while this seems like a simple operation, I'm getting stuck on it.  The two legs of the u-shaped flange, which is at an angle, intersect the base of the flange.  It seems like this should be a simple miter of the legs, but apparently not.  Anyone have a suggestion for what I'm not getting right?

Hi

Just trim it.

You'll need to decide if you want to cut them tighter than I did, or if you'd rather shorten the base so the flanges doesn't interfere with the base when creating a flat pattern.

Copy, trimming is easy.  Seems like the collision would/should be handled within the sheet metal tool though.

It also sucks that the "move" tool on that face won't allow me to rotate the face to parallel with the base. That seems like a problem, too.

I have trimmed the offending parts and I still can't get a flat pattern

It's a good idea to wait for the video of the answer to load before responding to it.

It's a better idea to wait until the file is loaded before replying, IMHO.

That's not possible, as servers process recordings after the response is sent.

And there's no point in talking back to people who volunteer their time for you.

Chamfer is an interesting solution.  Doesn't work for what I need, but not a tool I had considered.

What do you need?

I added a second and third possible "solution" to my previous response.

Once your Design Intent is known a solution can be provided.

Hi! Here is another workaround to consider. Create the flanges with some offset. Unfold the flanges, move the faces and make the cuts. Refold them back.
