Sheet metal hem method

To model hems in sheet metal, I'm:

- making two successive flanges

- extruding away the intervening flat section

- joining the bodies to make a 180 degree (e.g.) bend.

 

Seems to work but wondering if there's a better practice recommended?

This method is great for a single sided hem.  whats the trick for 2 hems meeting at a corner?

You forgot to Attach your *.f3d file here. 
Do you want mitered hem or butt hem?

More information about your Design Intent is needed.

Newbie here. How does one go about interpreting these types of answers? I.E. I see that you are able to solve the problem (make a model with the problem solved) but what I need to know is how to replicate the steps used to arrive at the solution.

1-download and open the model

2-step through the timeline, looking at each feature/sketch. edit features and examine settings.

3-post back with specific questions about things in the model you don't understand

The Timeline represents a step-by-step recipe for “baking the cake”.

Step 1 is to go through the built-in tutorials to learn how to read the Fusion recipes.

I had done this with the conclusion (May I say guess) that you sketched a curve and then pulled (dragged? Not sure what the correct term may be) it across to created the hem.  But why would a flange or bend not suffice? Both are restricted to be less than a 180 degree fold.

BTW, I solved my immediate need with a hand cut model from a piece of paper.
