Setting tab distances

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this, Ive been stuck on it for a while now.

Is there a way to set a distance to the center of my shock mounts? say from a tube centerline? At the moment my mounting tabs are essentially floating. I don't really even know where to begin with getting these in the right position. It seems like it should be any easy thing to do however I cant figure it out. I've watched many assembly tutorials on YouTube, but all anyone ever seems to show are the basic joints.

there are plenty of ways to model this so it will be easy to set that distance.  plenty of ways to model it so it would be hard to set that distance.  it would be easier to be more specific if you exported your model as an .f3d and attached it.

A cylindrical joint will allow you to position them along the crossbar and also rotate them.  Only one needs the cylindrical joint, the other a rigid joint to the first.
