Serial joints

Hi all,

Is there a way to make a bolt action style joint(s)? By this I mean: the bolt slides from point A to point B. Once it arrived at point B, the bolt can revolute for 45 degrees, but not slide until it is back at 0 degrees.

I got to set up the individual joints, but they don't seem to like each other very much...

Use 1 Cylindrical Joint instead.

Set Joint limits, and with Motion Study you can animate one degree of freedom at a time.

True, that shows me the animation, but I can't use it conditional for related joints then, right? @davebYYPCU

If it is Cylindrical, there are no other Joints.

You can use Contact Set, they are a memory hog, can be unreliable, would not be my recommendation even for this simple model, so don’t blame me.

@davebYYPCU is correct, Contact Sets are very undependable but in this simple situation I think you can get away with it.  To use a contact set, you must make the pin a separate component.  If it is a part of the common bolt component, you will have constant contact and it will not function.  It still is not real smooth unless you operate it in a position where you can keep it away from the edges of the slot, like from the Right Side view.  Model is attached.
