separate copied parts ?

Hello , I have made a new part by way of copying a old part only to find new part is not editable without causing old part to wig out because of edit to new part , Is there a way to break the connection" of these 2 parts so that old part does not wig out ?

Hi,

1. create a component from body
2. rightclick C > copy
3. rightclick primary instance (filename) > paste new

In the Screencast I demonstrated the technique to copy a independent component using the Paste New command.  This is what @g-andresen told you to do on to create a independent copy.  In the Screencast I go on to show you how to break the link between the original and the copy if you did it using the Copy/Paste method.
