Selection Options can only be changed in Model workspace?

Hello All!

 

I didn't know whether to put this here or in CAM.

 

When the selection options are changed in the Model workspace, the selection options carry over to CAM workspace, which is fine, but you have to switch back to Model to change the selection options again (you can't change them in the CAM workspace) which causes confusion sometimes.

 

So, if I change the selection options to "Bodies" only in Model, then move to CAM, I can't select edges or faces for toolpaths, for example. I have to exit the toolpath I started, move back to Model, change selection options, move back to CAM, start toolpath again.

 

Am I missing something, or is this expected behavior? It's driving me crazy.

To be honest, I'm not sure where the best place to report this one is either. 🙂

 

However, I did create a report (FUS-22380) for development to investigate this issue further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

You can ask here in the forum, via PM, through a support request for a status update. I just checked and this issue is still under investigation. No update is available at this time.

This is still an issue in CAM - selection settings in Model still affect CAM and you can't change selection settings in CAM.

 

Is there an update to this?

 

Am I being too impatient? (Feel free to tell me if I am).

I can see why this would be painful and why you would want it resolved. Thanks for the nudge.  A solution plan is not currently available to share, but the investigation is ongoing. I can provide an update here as soon as the plan is complete.
