Select tool changed mode and can't figure out how to change back

It seems my select tool is has changed it's behavior and I can't get back to where it was.

In Design, I have the window selection 1 option selection selected.

In the past I could drag the cursor to make a rectangle around something completely to select it.

Now, I can click on things to select them, but as I move the cursor around the assembly, it is highlighting whatever the pointer is hovering over. If I try to drag a rectangle around a component and there is another component under the point I started dragging (assuming it is not part of a rigid assemble or grounded), it drags that component. I created a rigid group for the assemble to avoid that, but I still can't get a rectangle to select anything. I'm trying to select some points I generated so I can hide them - they are in the corners where the eye screws are (there is also a point on each eye screw defined in the component - I've was using them to position accurately).

Tried saving, closing, fusion, reopening, but the behavior is persisting. I assume I hit some short cut but ...

With option 1 (Window Select) active, you have to start the window in white space, otherwise you are selecting the object under the cursor.

Might help....

I went back and made a few sub-assemblies that were themselves rigid groups so that the top assembly had only 8 components instead of 10's. That seem to settle things down. I think you're response reflects what I was seeing - there were just so many components I was tripping over them.
