Seeking Guidance on Parametric Design for Table Legs

Hi there!

I came across a beautiful dining room table on Reddit a while ago, and it inspired me to design something similar. I’ve started working on a sketch in Fusion 360, but I’m struggling to figure out the best approach.

I’d like to parameterize as much as possible—table dimensions, leg dimensions, leg angles, and rotation—so I can easily tweak the parameters to find a design I like. Does this seem like a reasonable approach?

The legs are proving to be the most challenging part for me. Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Thank you so much for your detailed response—I really appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise.

You created two sketches: one aligned with the ground and another aligned with the tabletop. However, if I want to control the angle of the leg, like this (see image), how can I manage the angle between two different sketches?

Thanks again for your help!

Be careful what you ask for.  The bottom rail and inclined leg are, planar.
To change that angle, I would be realigning the bottom / top relationship of the loft profiles.

That would then have the effect of changing the angle in side view.
