Just noticed section analysis fails to section a body assigned a textured material. Try Plastic Texture Random for example, simple test file attached..

Do you have colour cycling enabled, it's only a problem with it off.

The original file shown in my first post is displays fine on my laptop. I try on my work PC again tomorrow, probably find a reboot fixes it.
