Section analysis appears in drawing

Hi All,

Does anyone know how I managed to do this?  I got a section analysis that I added to my model which then appeared in my drawing.  It was not there to start with.  I created a perspective view and was working on that.  Then I think I changed a material type in the model.  Refreshed the drawing to reflect the new material in the parts list and the model suddenly showed the section analysis that I had active in the model.  Its actually quite useful and in this case Im going to leave it.  But it would be nice to know how I managed to do it?

Even if I switch the analysis off in the model now, it still shows in the drawing....

Anyone got any ideas?  Thanks.

Yes, I've seen this with at least one of my designs as well. I thought I had reported it at the time but I might not have done.

It was actually quite useful for the dwg i was doing. I wanted to be able
to re-create it.

I was able to recreate this but not quite figured out what's going on. It seems like if you save the design with a section analyses active then update the 2d drawing the last view you created\edit with a shaded view will show the section from the design workspace. The sectioning is only of the material\appearance.

I've only tried opening an out of date 2d drawing then updating. If I added a shaded appearance to an existing view that view picked up the section from the design or I guess the last view I had created before the last save.

So I got this if I just opened then updated.

Or this if I opened the 2d drawing, changed to shaded for the bottom middle view then updated.

Definitely seems like a bug but would actually be a nice feature! @ClintBrown3D What do you think?

I'd definitely say it's a bug but I'd kind of agree with both you and @HughesTooling in that it might be a nice option to  enable/disable it for specific views.

How do I report this to autodesk?  Do i have to raise a support ticket or something?

Thanks for the feedback. I can reproduce this issue.

This issue happens when update shaded drawing view from 3D design with section analysis, and it has been reported as internal ticket FUS-173879 for dev investigation.  In this case, the image of shaded view seems to be corrupt, and the workaround is to change the scale a little in the specific view or create a new view, showing as attached video.  We will try to investigate and resolve this issue, and hope the temporary workaround works for you.

Hi.
Thanks for the feedback and workaround.  What I will say is that in my case, the "bug" actually proved to be quite useful.  I could show a perspective view of the part, with the section revealing the inner workings.  A couple of other people said the same.  Maybe you could add it as a proper feature?  I think its useful.
