Sculpt non-selectable component

I have created a component on 'Model' mode and I want to edit it on Sculpt mode. However, when I convert to 'Sculpt' mode, the component appears as non-selectable (transparent) or non-activated. Any ideas on how I can activate it and edit it?

You cannot just sculpt around on a solid model created in the Model environment.

What made you believe you could ?

Greetings,

I just found this post...I had the same problem as the OP...are you saying it is impossible to go back and forth between 'Model' and 'Sculpt' environments?  I mean if project geometry is originally created in 'Model' it cannot be later 'refined' or modified in the 'Sculpt'...?  It is therefore necessary to choose one method ('Model' or 'Sculpt') at the start of a project and remain in that environment?  I also was under the impression one could move between environments for creating a 'base' model that could later be modified with more detail by sculpting refinements...that is a disappointment.

In the model environment you are working with BRep/NURBS surfaces and in the T-Spline environment you are working with ... well ... T-Splines. Mathematically these are compatible only in one direction. T-Spline ->NURBS but not the other way around.

That means that  you can start with a T-Spline and add model features to it. Then you can go back and edit the T-Spline and the rest of the model will update.

But you cannot start with a BRep/NURBS model and convert it to a T-Spline. You can only convert parts of it (if they are quad surfaces).
