Save file location still messed up

If I open a file in a given folder then try to save as it should default to that folder. It is so frustrating that it does not.
If I open a part in a given folder and create a drawing of that part save as should default to that folder.

Please please fix this. I feel like I spend half my time trying to navigate back to the folder I want to save in.

Hi,

We're sorry that the current behavior isn't what you are expecting, what is happening is that when you do a 'Save As', the location currently shown in the data panel is used as the default target. Our thinking around this was that the project / folder shown in the data panel is where you have been most recently active. It sounds as though this isn't the correct assumption for your workflows. Would you be interested in suggesting a change to this behavior in the IdeaStation ?

Hmm the idea station. The place where ideas go to die. Good idea.

Despite not having any votes when I have brought this up in other threads the majority of people who cared to vote on it agreed that the behavior should be like almost all other software in the history of time.
Does the way it's currently setup work for anyone? I would really love to hear from one person who finds it to be better.

I don't even understand how this could be better.
So I complete a tie rod design. Then I change folders and open up a water pump design and create a drawing for it. So F360 automatically wants to save it in the folder I last saved the tie rod into?
Yeah awesome workflow time saver. So then I have to navigate back to the oil pump folder. If it's a couple folders deep this can take a bit of time. Sometimes even some effort trying to remember exactly which folder you are in.

It makes me wonder how much time AD employees have spent navigating with dozens of projects, and hundreds of folders and sub folders.

Any way you cut it if I open up an oil pump design, make a drawing and try to save that drawing doesn't it make sense that it would be in the same folder? Or possibly in a sub folder that would be easy to get to from that folder? If I try to save as to create a new oil pump to try an alt design shouldn't that save as to the folder I originally opened the part in?

If you want to get fancy add a recent folders tab where someone could select one of the last 10 folders they visited or saved to. That would be a nice feature but much lower on the priority list to me.
