Revolving around ellipse

Hello guys,

I'm trying to create a lip around an oval body using the Revolve tool.

I tried doing as specified in this video: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Details/321b3ae...

But instead, as you can see, the sketch revolves in a circle and does not follow the edge of the other body. I also tried selecting other axes to see what would happen but none gave the desired effect.

The dimensions need to be correct because I'm printing this for an already existing frame.

Thanks in advance!

That video doesn't apply to what your trying to do.  revolve always revolves a profile around in a circle.

The tool your looking for is sweep.  select the profile you drew for the profile, and the top edge of the ellispe shaped body for the path.

attach a model for better help (file-export as .f3d-attach at bottom of post)

Thanks a lot! I think it worked. I used sweep Path + guide rail. I don't know if it was necessary but I got what I was looking for so I'm not touching it!

I've attached it as requested.
