Revolve Sketch Around a Spline

Hello,

I have created a hollow cylinder by using a Spline and sweep commands within the Model workspace. I then created a sketch that I want to revolve around the spline that I used to create my pipe. When I attempt this however, I cannot select the spline as my axis and I couldn't find ways to convert my spline into an axis. Is there any way to revolve a sketch around a spline?

Hello Fedman15, I hope that I can help you

From your image, it's look like that your axis for revolve is not linear and I think axis for revolve is must a linear (straight line). I just tried this with image below. I think sweep is better instead revolve in this case if you want the axis to be spline (maybe, I'm just a beginner 🙂 )

yes, that is true - Revolve requires a linear axis.  I'm not aware of any way to achieve a revolved surface around a spline.

That would not be a workaround. You just need to use the proper tool. BAsed on these sketches I have a hard time envisioning what the surface would look like.

You may want to check out the loft ( with rails tool). This is more complicated to use but can be really powerful.
