Revert vs Continue

Re: Components.. Can anyone see any reason why the options on the toolbar are Capture Position and REVERT, yet the equivalent options that pop up in the dialog are Capture Position and CONTINUE? I'd like to file this as a bug, since it really does just seem to be an inconsistency that only causes confusion.

Good point @robduarte, yes that sounds inconsistent.  I can explain how they are not really inconsistent, but I agree they should use the same terminology.

"Revert" here means to revert the components' moved state.  Say you drag a component around to exercise a joint's degree of freedom.  Then, your assembly is in a "moved state".  Revert at this point means "revert the moved state to its previous un-moved state".

The dialog that comes up when you attempt to run a command which could possibly rely on components' position, Fusion has to prompt for what to do.  Either a) that position is important, and we do want it to affect the feature you are about to create, or b) that position is unintentional and we don't want to use that position in the new feature.  In this context, "Continue" means (as in the text in the dialog) "continue the command with components in their previous positions.

I agree, though, that the text in this dialog should probably read "Revert and Continue" rather than just "Continue".   I'll log that bug.  [edit]:  filed as FUS-29687

Yes, ⁣Revert and Continue would be clearer.
