Resolve around ellipse

Hi 👋

I am trying to resolve a sketch around an ellipse. I tried a few ways but none succeeded.

1. Trying to sweep

2. Trying to cut

3. Sweep in Form mode (I have really never used Form before)

Has anyone got a tip on how to solve this ?

Thanks a lot !

An Ellipse sweep, cut or new body, will succeed it the closest point of the profile does not overlap itself at the ends.  This profile sketch is a hair away from failing as shown by the red arrow.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. While your solution works, I am still left with a flat surface on the top of the ellipse, which is something I don't want to have. It's very strange because it seems like an easy requirement but seems impossible to model.

Maybe you need to switch your method. How about a Loft from the Ellipse to a Point with some added tangents.  Model is attached to give you an idea.

By the way, you need to start using the "Reply" icon, on the post, you are responding to.  This will address your message to the Forum poster you are addressing and not yourself, a little more personal.

This one did the trick ! I am always amazed at how creative people can get on here. Sorry for not responding directly to your response, I will do so in the future 🙂
