Resizing a center mark

Hi,

I am currently working on some sheet metal drawings. First of all, the automated center marks don't work at all. I have read that might be an issue with using my own drawing sheet templates?

I'm manually adding center marks by clicking 'Center Mark' now. However, the size of those marks is huge. Way too big for smaller holes. Is there a faster way of resizing them than dragging every single grey arrow to the center? I tried using a Center Mark Pattern and deselecting Auto complete, but then I can't change the size at all. Copying and reassigning a center mark doesn't work either.

I still have around 90 center marks to assign today, so I'd appreciate not having to drag 360 grey arrows.

Thanks!

Biggi

Edit: For some reason, the automated center marks now magically appeared. Might just be my amazingly fast (not), german internet connection.

Hi Biggi,

Glad that everything's working now!
When you say the automated center marks appeared, do you mean the tool itself or the result of the tool? I would like to get an idea of what wasn't working correctly. Have you seen this with other datasets or just this one? If its this dataset would you mind sharing the data so that I can see if I have any problems on my end please?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

I don't know about other data, i just had the issue right now. I had all the automated center marks checked in the drawing view and nothing happened. After a while (and restarting fusion two times) the marks, so the result of the tool, were there.

However, I still have the resizing question. All center marks are big and they overlap, making the drawing harder to read. Hope the screenshot helps.

As far as I know there is no way to automatically have all of those grey arrows be as short as possible. You can try afew things that may help across the board though. First you could try changing the "Line Type Scale" in the document settings to see if that helps:

You could also try changing the Line Type of Center Line and Marks here:

You could also try changing the scale of the views as I believe the length of the center marks stays constant between them.

In the mean time I'll put in a feature request to copy the format of an item to another which could also speed up your workflow. Let me know how you get on.

Hi James,

I tried everyting you suggested.

Line Scale only changes the distribution of gaps but doesn't affect the overall length.

Line type does something similar. I achieved the same results by alternating between those two settings.

I also tried setting the vieweing scale from 1:4 to 1:1 and then it does look just like I want. However, my drawing is bigger than A0 then.

Thanks for putting in the feature request though. In the meantime, I'll work at A1 in a 1:2 Scale. It's not great but it works for now.
