Reset Parameters to Standards

Hi,

As a student I'm working for a company that makes all kind of tailor made seats. I created skeletons for every part using parameters, so he can adjust every model easily later on. However, he always starts from the same standards. Is it possible to reset the parameters back to 'standards' after each order, or is there a better workflow for this particular intent.
Was thinking about 'reuse libraries', something NX does support, but can't really find a Fusion alternative.

Expressions are also not really user-friendly, you can't rearrange/sort or even highlight them. So it's kinda messy.

It must be easy adjust for non experts.

Thanks already,
Luk

You are looking for an add-in to Fusion 360 called "Parameter I/O".  The Screencast will show you where to find it and use it.  A couple of important points to know.  One, you must have Excel available on your system, at least I think so, I have never had a system without Excel where I have installed it.  Two, you must CLOSE Fusion 360 before installing it.

After installation, you will create your master parameter list, Export it using the Add-In, and then Import your list to your next model.  I only demonstrated the Import side but I am sure you get the idea.

Did you try the Fusion 360 Add-in I mentioned?  How did it work for you?  If my Forum post solved your question, please select the "Accept Solution" icon to do three things. First it allows others to find a solution to a similar question, two, it closes the Forum post and last, it acknowledges that you accept the solution given. If you need further help, please ask.

Thanks for the response. I did not test it yet, but it seems like you have to re-upload the CSV file every time you make changes. With Siemens NX I can use Excel and it syncs automatically.

I've also thought about zeroing all the parameters, so 0 is standard, but that still doesn't resolve my messy issue.

Save a Template Model,

set all the parameters as starting values.

Open template file, and save as new customer name, then update parameter values there.

Might help....

You can have numerous Excel CSV files with parameters for various type jobs of customers.  When you are ready to go, import the CSV file you desire and off you go.  The advantage to this method is ability to save various parameter configurations to match the job you wish to work on.  You only have to import it once for each new job.  You can also Export CSV files at any time you feel you would like to preserve a certain parameter table.

That would work indeed, for me, but I'm looking for something much friendlier. I have to take a closer look at Parameter I/O, but it's still a quite bit detour.

I get the idea, but all my parameters are separated by a comma, and not rows and columns. The downside of CSV files
