Hi Guys,
I'm quite new to Fusion360, still learning lots! I use it for 3D printed parts.
I am designing a simple box with many threaded holes and threaded caps. I am finding in order for my threads to work, I need to use the "offset face" tool on the thread mating faces after creation to widen the gap by 0.1mm on all four faces of the thread profile- otherwise they are way too tight to screw in by hand.
This isn't a problem to do on a single thread, but when you have a box like this, its a long-is job. Is there a more efficient way to adjust all of the threads in every hole together? What I currently do:
Zoom in to thread profile with section analysis active for a cross-section
modify -> Offset face
Select face of thread, -0.1mm
repeat for the other 3 faces
Repeating that for every thread will take a while. Can I somehow copy the adjustment over the other threads? Or is there a way to introduce more tolerance during the thread creation using the thread tool, so I don't have to come back to it like this?
Thanks!
These are the faces I adjust to widen tolerance:
