Rendering??

Hi. Hope you are having an amazing day.

I was studying the fusion 360 in the website and had a question on the following lesson: Basic Training > Rendering > Lesson 5, Creating an image with rendering.

The rendering takes quite some time. Do you need to render before you can CNC-mill your design? Or can you just make the proper file from what you have (before rendering) and use that file to create your 3d object? Is rendering for showing the design to other people?

Thanks.

Rendering is for visualizing your design, either to yourself for pure enjoyment, or to communicate your design to other people.

CAM is for making the parts. There is no dependency between those work spaces.

Given your question I'd suggest you watch all of the Fusion 360 introductory videos and then some 😉
