Rendering information and details

Hi there,

I have to create a 'master rendering environment' for products and would like to replicate render settings from Fusion Model to Fusion model.

Say, I am busy tweaking environments and appearances on a model, and I now stand at version 150. When I compare images in the rendering gallery and see the render of Version 135 is the best.

Is there a way of seeing the all details of the render, without opening the model and hunting through the appearance library and setup?

i.e. which environment was set up (lights, angle, lux) and which materials were used.

I have tracked my changes on a spreadsheet, and replicated those changes in a newer version, yet I can't seem to yield the same render. It's baffling me for some time now.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can you try these steps and  let me know if it works for you?

Appearances:

  1. You can easily set up a library of appearances by using Copy to My Appearances.
  2. Just open the design you like, open Appearances, and right click on the swatch in "in this design" panel.
  3. The My Appearances library will be available for all your designs.

Render environment settings:

  1. When you have the design open that shows great rendering results, open Settings.
  2. Save the settings as Default.

Thank you Phil, that will definitely help!

Is there any chance I could share "My Appearance" with others? A few of us need to work on renders that will require exactly the same finishes.

Hey @Anonymous,

Glad Phil's tip helped!

As far as the shared appearances go, the best way to do this is to share the file with the appearance you want with your colleagues. When they import/open the file, they will see the appearances you used in their Appearance window, and they will then be able to right click on the specific appearances and Add to Favorites or Copy to My Appearances to be used in other files. Let me know if this works for you.
