Reference geometry form last patterned body

I'm designing a bracelet. It's made of several bodies that have interconnected hinges (desired to be 3d printed in place). I built one of these bodies and then used a rectangular pattern to create the others, then I have some features that build a clasp into the first and last body. I'm also trying to make the easily adapt to various wrist sizes using user parameters which has worked very well except for one issue which is being able to select the last body (created by the pattern) in order join the clasp geometry to it. If it's not clear I'm using a user parameter to set the number of bodies for the pattern to create and want to be able to have a combine feature that has the last body from the pattern as it's target even as I change the user parameter.

Hi,

For a better understanding, please share the design and name the relevant parts.
In addition, a screencast could also light the circumstances.

The design is here: https://a360.co/2UfTl8J

If you increase the numSegments parameter from 25 to 26, you will see that "cleanup for bumps cut" feature no longer cuts the correct body and the "join bumps" feature attempts to join the wrong bodies.

I figured out a solution. Instead of trying to turn the last body from the pattern into the clasp. I made a copy of a segment to the side of the chain, turned it into the clasp and then moved it to the correct location based on the user parameters.
