Did you just archive a project?   Maybe delete some files or a folder?

I've gotten m A360 to do that by archiving/deleting.

It seems like there is a either an issue with the thumbnail generation or there is a third party add-in that might cause this issue. Do you have any ad-block add-ins installed for your webbrowser?

You could test opening the same page in an incognito or private browser window to see if the same issue occurs. You may also try temporarily disabling any ad-block software to see if it helps.

Otherwise, if you open the item's details, what is the result? Could you share a screenshot of the item's details? Is it normal?

Thanks,

I only use A360 to activate and deactivate files (wish it could be done in Fusion 360) so I have no idea how to "open the item's details."

I just want to make sure all my data is still there, I have never seen these red circles before.

I opened A360 in Google with add block off, in a  incognito tab, in Microsoft Edge and all gave the same result. (lots of red circles)

All the red circles are on data that has been archived but not all archived data has red circles.

I restored a couple files to see what was there and it looks like everything is there not sure tho and it would be very time consuming to check each and every file.

I'm not sure I understand which commands you are using when you say activate/deactivate. Do you mind elaborating on what this means?

If you click on the name of an item in A360, it should take you to a details page:

Screen Shot 2016-07-18 at 12.08.20 PM.png

You can select View to review the 3D model data:

Do these items show up? I don't think the data is missing, I think there may be an issue the thumbnail previews.

If you open on the problem designs in Fusion 360, save, and then re-check in A360, is the thumbnail generated?

Thanks,

I think it used to be ativate and deactivate it is now archive and restore.

I believe it is the only way to control what shows up on the project panel in Fusion 360.

Please see attachments.

I do not use A360 except to archive and restore.

"If you open on the problem designs in Fusion 360, save, and then re-check in A360, is the thumbnail generated?"

All "problem designs" are deactivated so if you click one you get the message shown on top off attachments A360 !!! and A360 !!!2 .

If I click on a active project I get ...see attachment in next reply please...it seems I can only attach 3 files per reply.

I'm getting closer to understanding what you're doing.  It looks like you are archiving and restoring projects in Autodesk 360. It sounds like designs stored in archive projects are missing thumbnails. Am I getting closer?

To my best knowledge, this may be the as-designed behavior for an archived project. It would be really helpful to understand why you are archiving projects. What is the intent behind doing this?

I believe most user's here have a Project based upon who they will share data with. For example, you may have one project that contains multiple hang gliders, or you may decide to create a Project per hang glider. The real question is who(m) will the data be shared with?

For example, if I knew I was going to collaborate with someone on ABC hang glider, I would make separate project for this specific hang glider. I can then invite users into this project and they will have access to this data. However, the invitee will not have access to another project (where I have XYZ hang glider stored).

"time-out." Project Administrators can archive projects if they no longer want to work on them, do not want project members to access the project. Is this why you are archiving the Projects?

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

I hope so. Is there some where else to do this? I would love to never have to open A360 again.

"To my best knowledge, this may be the as-designed behavior for an archived project. It would be really helpful to understand why you are archiving projects. What is the intent behind doing this?"

I archive projects when I am done with them to keep the Project Panel as clear as possible. See previous attachment for pic of "Project Panel"

Abosulely no one %99 of time.

" Project Administrators can archive projects if they no longer want to work on them, do not want project members to access the project. Is this why you are archiving the Projects?"

I archive them when the part has been machined and shipped and I have no use for the data until next week, month or year when there is another order for said part. In some cases I may never need the data again but at this time there is no way of deleteing a project.

"I hope that helps."

No...I just want to know why the red circles with the "!" started showing up and whether or not I am in danger of losing hundreds of hours of work.

It would also be nice if we could make them go away.

If you right click on a project in the data panel, there is an option to Archive the Project. You wouldn't be able to restore, since this will remove the project from the data panel. For the restore, you will have to go to the A360 Dashboard.

Screen Shot 2016-07-18 at 4.10.28 PM.png

I note that is is possible to delete a design from a project in some cases. This is something we are working toward supporting in the future. For now there are some restrictions around designs involved with distributed designs or designs containing XREF's.

From the screenshots provided so far, the errors ?!?! either indicate that a design is stored in an archived project and is no accessible or they show that the preview thumbnails have been removed.

Are you experiencing any trouble opening a design after restoring a project in Fusion 360?

After restoring a project, the design may need to be saved again via Fusion 360, in order to regenerate a thumbnail preview in the A360 Dashboard.  It seems that archiving the project removes the preview thumbnails. I could see how that may be confusing. Is the design stored in an archived project or is the thumbnail simply not available. Using the data panel in Fusion 360 may be a way to work around what is and is not currently archived.

@Bud_Schroeder_ADESK @BrettWright Do you happen to know what the expected behavior is after archiving the a project? Are the preview thumbnails removed? Is a restore expected to bring them back?

Thanks,

"Are you experiencing any trouble opening a design after restoring a project in Fusion 360?"

No not that I can tell without spending many hours going back thru all the data.

Archived Projects have no thumbnail all they have is a tan colored cube for models and some other tan colored picture for drawings. (at least in my case)

In my case there is a red circle with a red "!" on some of them which seems to indicate to me something is not right.

I am concerned with losing many many hours of work.

I would also like to know why they are present on some archived projects and not on other archived projects.

Thank you.

As far as I can tell there is no issue with access to your data. I'm still researching this topic, but I suspect everything is working as designed at this point.

Thank you for your patience.

Hello,

That is good news Thank you.

So do you think it's just a browser issue?

Some of the red circles disappear over time starting from the top and working there way down but sometimes they do not.

Again the circles only appear on archived projects.

Here is an attachment of the activity bar.
