Rectangular Pattern Error - Holes

Hello,

I've been getting odd behaviors when doing rectangular patterns of hole features.

This has been happening pretty consistently for maybe six months or so across many model files.

I'll create a singular hole feature driven by parameters, then create a rectangular pattern, also driven by parameters.

The initial pattern will work well, but if I edit the parameters driving the spacing or quantity, the pattern will break and shift at least on instance of the spacing to an odd number.  When editing the rectangular pattern, the preview will look correct, but when I confirm, the error shows itself.

I've recorded an example of this process, please see below.

Thank you.

Hi,

I could not reconstruct the described behaviour.

Please share the file.

Hello,

See the file export attached.

Thank you.

If you change the Compute Type from Adjust to Identical there the model behaves as expected.

I do believe, however that for such simple geometry the Adjust algorithm should not get confused, hence I would consider this to be a bug. @Phil.E would you agree?

Thanks @TrippyLighting.  I appreciate it.  I need to learn the different use-cases for "Adjust" "Identical" and "Optimized".

I can't get it to fail using the attached model, changing the count from 16 to 14, and back again, and using any either identical or adjust option. As such, I have no opinion or bug to report.

Hi,

My impressions:
1. the hole and the pattern tool can not be called friends.*
2. the option "Identical" should be set as default, because the „Adjust“ option is something special and should be chosen deliberately.

* I remember from various posts
