Rectangular pattern and Cut Extrusion

I am trying to figure out Fusion 360 and on my first try I did the whole sketch manually but hey rectangular pattern to the rescue. However the extrude is negative so I can't select the face? Instead I did rectangular pattern within the sketch and some youtubers said that was a no-go!? So what is the best approach, is it even possible to do rectangular pattern when doing "Cut extrude"? Downsides/advantages?

Attach 2 images for what is a working but maybe not optimal solution.

i Christian,

try this:

1. create only one element in sketch mode > extrude / cut

2. create pattern  > feature > select feature in the timeline > define axis and the distances

yes, you can pattern Extrude/cut just as well as you can pattern Extrude/join.  Here is a screencast:

Thanks both for 2 awesome replies. I wasn't aware(forgotten about) the "feature" selection and it works great!
