Hello,

I'm in the process of settng up a workstation for use with fusion 360. for hw i'm gong to reuse a 5 year old computer with  quad core cpu and 8gb of memmory and probably put a GTX970 4gb mem graphics card In it and windows 10 or 7(haven't decides). I'm a complete newbie to cad/cam and the use will be light weight i supose ( just for hobbie/fun cnc woodwork and 3d print.

now my big question, what size screen size/ reslution to choose.  I see some have problems with the realy high resolutions but i can't see to find any reccomendation for a good screen size and resolution combination

so far. I'm thinkng something like this

24" 1920x1080 dual screens

24". 1920x1200 dual screens

27" 1920x1200 single screen

27" 2560x1440 single screen

27" 3840x2140 single screen

What do you, think will be a good size for me to choose?

john

Hello jajohnsen,

This would be more of a personal preference as it would have no impact on system performance for Fusion. The benefit to a smaller resolution would be beneficial for any customization to the User Interface for Fusion icons. Below is a link to some helpful information.

User-Interface Customization

It is really your comfort level as to how small the icons will be on your screen for your eyes to see.

Don

Hello,

I think this is more less about personal feeling. How bright are your eyes, how much space is on your table and limit of credit card  🙂

I work with Fusion on my MacBook Pro 13", it is ok. When I'm in the office I have connected 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor, it is also ok.

Fusion is optimized also for 4k monitors, in this case I would only recommend to check if the graphic card supports display port v1.2. Older versions of display port use frequency 30Hz

My personal opinion... bigger is better unless you have to scale text. I worked with 27" 3840x2160 some time, my expectation was higher then the reality.

regards

Thank you both for your answers, this was great information.

at work i use dual 27" 2560x1440 and i am comfortable with the the size of icons and text in the programs i use, altough mostly server monitoring programs, word excel, and web gui's.

So i think maybe that will be a good choise then, as i think 3840x2160 would be to smal icons for me.

Fortunately i don't have a limit on my creditcard;)
