Random Lines Appearing

Anonymous
Not applicable

Every now and then while sketching a random line will appear. Usually the line is very small and hard to spot, therefore sometimes going unnoticed and messing up the sketch. This occurs after I click one point for the start of the line, and before I click the second point. This happens often, and can be quite annoying. Im not sure if I am accidentally creating the line somehow or if this is a bug... Has anyone else experienced this?

I've seen these as well, I figured fusion is seeing a double click or drag when starting a line. Doesn't happen in any other programs though.

I see this quite often and it has led to errors in the model that are hard to locate and fix.  I just assumed that my click and drag technique was at fault.  Hopefully a bug will be filed and fixed for this.

@Anonymous @etfrench  @HughesTooling

Are there any steps to take to reproduce this issue? Could this issue be related to the specific graphics hardware or settings that you're using? If you're on Windows, have you recently updated your display drivers? Any hints would be really helpful. An Autodesk Screencast would be super helpful if you get a chance to make one.

Thanks in advance!

@innovatenate it doesn't happen that often but it seems to mostly be at the start of a line and I figured I might be dragging and clicking. Fusion does seem a bit more troublesome with mouse clicks in general, sometimes I need to click 2 or 3 times picking lines to add constraints or just selections in general. I don't like the way the screen flashes all the time in Fusion so I tend to hide all but the part and sketch I'm working on and avoid sketch on face so I don't think it's down to too much information on the screen.

I'm wondering if there is any commonality in hardware that is leading to this. I don't think I see the flashing that you are describing. What video card and/or peripheral devices do you run on this computer?

I also wonder if having 3D sketch and Snap enabled while sketch may contribute to this behavior somehow. I look forward to your feedback!

Thanks,

Dredging this thread up from the way back machine.  I finally caught the extra line behaviour in a screencast.

The extra line happens about 30 seconds into the screencast.  The screencast doesn't record any extra mouse clicks while drawing the line.
