**** this is a continual problem.  fusion 2.0.5119 on W10 pro.

here's the design i'm inserting, it consists of 6 components that I have arranged like this: this is design to be insertedthis is design to be inserted

and this is what appears when I insert it, 3 of the components are shifted around.

this is what appears upon insertionthis is what appears upon insertion

some components are clearly missing some of their parametric information. and there's nothing I can do about it.

I suspect you have not Jointed the components into the proper positions within the source file. So when you insert it into an assembly file, those components come in in their default positions.

yes, the source design is https://a360.co/2CscDyr and the assembly design is https://a360.co/2CrxGB8

but wouldn't ya know, I get to work today and the problem is no longer occurring. but i'll keep workin and it probably will occur again before the end of the day.

Yep, that is very likely going to happen again.

Familiarize yourself with the difference between bodies and components if you have not done so, already.

Review Fusion 360 R.U.L.E #1

And maybe check out the Master Class Assemblies

Nothing is really properly assembled in your "assembly", so its no surprise that stuff gest "distorted".
