Quick question to splines

Hi there,

I always had the assumption that I understand splines. However, when looking at the attached picture, I do not get why the right and left side do look different? As all the measurements and Tangents are the same, I thought that they should look the same.

Thanks for your help,

Those of us who mirror parts from half sketches would never know you can do that.

At least you have a choice now.

So many duplicates, you are working too hard.

@jeff_strater one for the sketch engine guys?

Might help....

Haha, yeah I thought that this would come. I discovered this behaviour and created this example to highlight that everything is the same on both sides.

i don't know the technical/mathematical  reason, but I do know that you can't count on 2 different fit point splines with the same dimensions to be the same. one of a few reasons why mirroring fitpoint splines is problematic. you can count on control point splines to behave though.

and this is why you don't want to use sketch offset on a spline-
