Push Pull Sketch on Assembly not working

I've created a drilling fixture. It is all complete, joints defined, Everything is fine except I forgot to add the drill bushings. I went back to the fixed plate (grounded) and created a new sketch and the surface and defined where the bushings need to be place. However, when I pres Q, the sketch no longer shows up to create these two holes. I checked the display settings and all items are checked on object visibility. I went back in my time line to add the holes earlier in the process and that doesn't work, either. I can modify the sketch but unable to "cut" the holes.

Screencast will be displayed here after you click Post.

Make sure the component is active and your sketch is in the component.

I am sure this will boil down to a parent/child relationship in history.

It is, and I did do that. I wish it was that easy!  I even went back in my time line and tried it there thinking that would work. The grounded component in the assembly is called Fixed Plate. This is where I'm trying to drill the holes for the drill bushings. For whatever reason, when I press Q, the plate turns into a solid and no other lines (Sketch or hidden) show up. I did see a couple of warning messages in my time line that I'm trying to correct. That may be part of the problem. I see an old reference line that I can't seem to select. It's yellow and the warning dialog says 1 Reference failure, project source is lost, Cache is used. The line doesn't mean anything to the sketch, but I can't seem to select it.

Two things without the screencast -

Does the sketch exist, to the left of where you want to use it.

Does pressing E make a difference, pressing Q allows Fusion to think of other things you might want to do, like offsetting the face of the plate, and not extrude cutting two new hoes.

Screencast, picture or better the file, will assist us get you there.
