Public material libraries?

Anyone know of any good public material libraries? In particular, I would like some more woods, like wormy maple and beetle kill pine.

Hi @ericksonla

There really isn't a method to share personal materials at this time. That functionality is in the roadmap.

I'm not aware of any 3rd party/customer that is making materials for Fusion.

If you see an arrow on an appearance in Fusion, you will need to download the material/appearance first in order to apply it.

Are you looking for further appearances outside of the existing/downloadable content?

Thanks,

Yeah, I found the downloadable materials. Since its possible to create your own personal materials and save them in a personal library, I was hoping someone else had maybe created some other wood materials that they would be willing to share.

@colin.smith

I am making custom materials for Fusion right now. Been posting about them for quite a while.

Phil, these are outstanding, just what I was hoping for! I don't see them shared in the linked post. It looks to me like it would be as simple as posting the .adsklib file. Then we could import them through the material browser.

Do you have plans to post the files soon?

Also, do you take requests for new materials? I love building with beetle kill pine and it would be awesome to be able to model with it.

@colin.smith & @ericksonla- thanks for the kind words.

@ericksonla

I am still developing the materials so I have not made them publicly available yet. Unfortunately with the way Fusion handles materials right now it is a major task to import all the materials.

I had a hard drive crash so the materials are on hold for a week or two as I have some other things that need to be done.

Ideally I wish the Fusion team would make it a lot more user friendly for people like me to create and share custom libraries.

I am always open to requests.

@PhilProcarioJr - the creation, storing and sharing of custom libraries is on the list.  The creation and storing parts will show up in the first half of this year. The sharing will come after.

Waiting for this functionality is the main reason I haven't finished these off.

 The other is the fact that most of the advanced features of the materials and the render that I need access to are not available to me.

I go to work log into Fusion and my materials are gone, go from my laptop to my desktop my materials are gone....just a real pain to work with.

I look forward to seeing this in Fusion.
