protection case Playstation controller

Hi Everyone,

I need to make a case for a playstation controller and I found this design on the internet as a bases.

I am wondering if there is a way where I don't need to make a whole new sketch, but where I can use the body to extrude the whole design at once. So when I do this I know this is going to be a perfect fit for the controller.

But is there a feature or something that I can use for this, or do I need to make a new design or can I do something else?

If someone could help me out that would be amazing!

Best wishes,

Martijn

1. Make a copy of the whole body.

2. Delete or fill the holes.

3. Make 1 or 2 cubes that intersects the body.

4. Use COMBINE command to subtract the body from the cubes. This will create cavities of the body in the cube.

5. Do some post process as you want.

This is one way. There are more ways. If you are confused, share the file with me here in your next comment.

What material will you use for the case.

What manufacturing process will you use?

What are the limitations and process tolerances for the manufacturing process that you will use?

I will be using flexible PLA, but I have not decided yet which specific material I am going to use. For now it needs to me flexible material that's printable like TPU.

It needs to be printed on a 3D printer with a nozzle of 0.4. That are all the limitations for this design.

Hi @MoshiurRashid ,

I think I explained myself wrong regarding what I wanted to do.

I need to make a case that fits tightly around the ps4 controller, so that it has a protective layer while using the controller. It needs to be something like a case that you have for you phone.

If the design is ready then I will print it with somesort of Flexible PLA in orde to give it a nice feel and not damage anything on the controller itselfs. Also it has a nice feel to it if you have it in your hand.

The file that I have attached in this command I already have the controller enlarged with 1.5. So it's a little bigger than the orginal file that I have on my pc.

I have attached the file, so if you have an other way to get this done please let me know!

First you will need to Delete all extraneous geometry.

I have posted a start on this to give you the idea.

At some point you will not be able to clean it up any further.

When you get to that point - reattach the file here.

Hi,

I have managed to get it this far and all the holes that are inserted in the design are needed.

Because this is gonna be a slide over case on to the controller, so the controller itselfs take less damage.

I hope you can help me further, because if I want to make the surface of the controller thicker the program crashes.

I hope to hear from you soon.
