promoting an older version part file

i recently did some work to a part assembly, but i made some mistakes that needed to be reversed. in the past i could promote an old version, but now "milestone" is the only option and it doesnt seem to perform the same way "promote" did but now everytime i try to revert back to the old file it immediately asks me to udpate the file, and it always brings me back to the messed up version.

how do i use an older part file as the newest version, again?

Hi @jfaustino9PRJ7,

Please follow below steps to Promote to new version

1. Open Old version
   
2. Do some changes to make the document Dirty
3. From the File menu, Select 'Save As Latest'
   
4. A warning appears
5. Select Ok
