Projecting shapes and creating new bodies from shapes onto 3D Egg

I created a new body of an Egg. I put a canvas behind it as reference and outlined one of the "spots" on the egg. How do I project the spot onto the egg so that I can create a new body from it. The object is to have the spot as a separate piece so that it can be 3D printed and inserted into the hole where it would go on the egg body.

I tried emboss but that just makes an emboss/deboss on the same body, and doesn't let me create a separate body from it

I'll eventually want to do this all over the egg with all the spots, but I want to learn how to do it with the one, and go from there.

Thanks!

Make a copy of the egg. Deboss the spot.  Combine cut (keep tools) the debossed egg from the whole egg.  Print the debossed egg and the spot.

Is there an easier way? I need to do this all the way around the egg, so I would just need to repeat that process for each "spot"?

Also, for a different egg with a different pattern:

How would I go about making the pattern that goes all the way around as one piece?

thanks!

You'll need to create individual debosses, but only one combine/cut.

You can try creating the wrap around spots on a flat pattern of the egg similar to this:

Deboss each section onto the egg.
