Projected sketch using surface intersection

Hello,

I am struggling with creating two sketches to use for a loft cut.  I am reverse engineering a scan of a prototype wheel.  I am unable to share this scan data as I am under a NDA, sorry.  Hopefully you can see from from screenshots what I am trying to achieve.

Base solidBase solidSurfacesSurfacesScanScan

The last image probably gives the best idea of what I need. I am trying to cut an aperture in the base solid down to the split line which is at an angle (a revolved surface). The surface on the rim extends from the rim into the aperture, this is the main difficulty I am failing at. The loft cut from the other side of the wheel is easier as it doesn't have any shared surfaces, its a straight forward loft cut.  I have created surfaces at the key points but can't create sketch geometry.  Be nice if Fusion would let you work with projected lines better, trim, extend etc!

Any help, very much appreciated.   Regards Simon

Use Project > Intersect, set to body,

Select a body and the sketch will contain body outline, where it penetrates the sketch plane.

Before ok, set the keep Link or similar to off.  Then you will get blue lines instead of purple.

Blue lines can be trimmed, extended as normal line.  You will need to lock or define the new stuff as the link for position is lost using this method.

Might help…..
