Projected profiles not closed

Hi All

I have finished up my modeling on a project, and it is all in sheet metal. So now I need to nest and export DXFs.

This is my process:

  1. Create flat patterns of all components (all components modeled up from scratch in Fusion 360).
  2. Derive all flat patterns to a new part and 'arrange'.
  3. Create a new sketch and project all bodies.
  4. As the second pic below shows, not all of the profiles are closed, even though they were projected from a solid.

And another problem I am having is that the bend lines do not show up on the drawing:

And the last detail I need to include is part numbering in the form of text. Each solid has the correct part number in its properties, but I guess I need to number each part manually.

But the real problem is the profiles, some are open and some are closed. If I can't solve this I will need to pedit in Nanocad and I have many more parts to come!

Try DXFer - download from Github.

Step 1 is required, step 2 is optional,

Step 3 select the planar face of each part, where they are

DXFer will export all your parts to a single dxf file, where nesting will be required.  To date no errors detected.

I have previously reported sketch profile errors from projecting bodies, just as you have detected.

Might help...

Thanks Dave

I have tried it out, but then I lose my nested sheet arrangement, and the polylines it creates are quite rough.

And I also lose my bend lines.

As much as I try to stay away from Rhino, I think a closecrv there is my only workable solution at the moment.
