Projected object into sketch does not update

I have a sketch that I defined on the plane of an object. I also projected this object into the sketch so that I could construct some derived features in this sketch.   (The object is a simple plate, and this sketch is used for placing imported components on this plate.)

I've found that when I edit the user defined parameters that control the size of the plate, the plate is updated, and the sketch and it's derived geometry also seem to be updated, but that a "ghost" of the old plate remains.    How can I fix this?

Attached is a screen shot of what I mean.  I changed the parameters to make my plate shorter. but you can see the taller old plate still there.

Thanks.

I think this is because you've used sketch on face and when you do this the edges of the face are auto project to the sketch, why they don't update I don't know. Personally I don't like using sketch on face because I find the auto projected edges are a distraction so I always use create plane, select the face then use the new plane for the sketch or if I do select a face for a sketch I window select all the projected curves and delete.

One thought on the problem, have you tried a compute All (Ctrl+B) to see if that updates everything.

Hi carlalex,

Thanks for reporting the problem.

I guess the "ghost" of the old plate you mentioned might be the sketch profile. So in this case, the problem looks like the sketch profile is not updated. Could you help attach your model here or provide a video to help describe the issue?(for example, to let us know which parameter you are modifying, etc.) You can also email your model file to weining.cao@autodesk.com for us to take a look.

Thanks,

Frank

Thanks,

I believe it has corrected itself, but I can't tell you exactly when, so I no longer have anything to show you.

This design does have a number of imported components, but this plate, the sketch used to create it, or the second sketech taken off of a face are not is not imported.
