Project a sketch along a curve to another plane

Hi,

I would like to project a sketch along a curve to another plane.

In the example below, the highlighted sketch on the right should follow the curve above it and be projected to the plane on the left at the apex of the curve. However, I don't know how to get the projection to follow the curve, the project command just projects parallel from the projecting face. How can I get it to follow the curve?

Thanks.

Patch > Sweep to make a surface body.

Then Project > Intersect the body to obtain the sketch curves on the second plane.

Hey, thank you for getting back to me. I just tried it and ended up with this:

Was this what you were intending? It looks like this will work! Seems like a strange solution though, I'm not really familiar with the "patch" menu or what that's supposed to do. What is the intended use of the "patch" submenu? How are the functions in this part of fusion360 fundamentally different than those in the model menu?

Also, would there be a way to add a few more profiles along the curve so that the thickness of the surface body could be interpolated along the sweep?

Thank you so much!

Ha - well of course it will work, I hope I didn't give an impression that I was guessing....

The Patch system, basically similar tools to the solid tools,

the versatility of using more tools, opens up the restrictions a small toolset gives.

Patch workspace bodies are not solid, no thickness, and great for using as split body cutters, are a little more forgiving, but can still be thickened and stitched to make composites.

With that body in place now, you can place Sketch planes where needed and the Project Intersect will redraw the profile of the body onto the sketch plane, exactly what you asked for.  Another way would be to copy the sketch curves, and paste them to new sketch planes, but that is more labour intensive.

The last question, sounds like Loft, different profiles along that path has to be Loft, or sweep with two rails can modify the profile to a degree, certainly not as versatile as Loft, even though Loft can be finicky to boot.
